The Non-Fatal Shooting and Advocacy Support Program connects survivors of gun violence with trained advocates who provide emotional, practical, and social support. In its first three years, the program has assisted more than 500 people and has shown early promise in reducing the risk of reinjury.

Nearly 50% more children are surviving gunshot wounds compared to 2017, with some shot multiple times. The study highlights early trauma exposure, social media conflicts, and easy access to firearms as major drivers—and calls for urgent, early intervention.
