HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER (HCV) PROGRAM

This program provides eligible households vouchers to help pay the rent on privately owned homes of their choosing. A family receiving a voucher must pay at least 30 percent of its monthly adjusted gross income for rent and utilities. Contact the Indianapolis Housing Agency or Community Action of Greater Indianapolis to learn more.

INDIANA HOUSING NOW

Indiana Housing Now.org is a housing locator service sponsored by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority that provides detailed information about rental properties and helps people find housing to best fit their needs. The service can be accessed at no cost online 24 hours a day or through a toll-free, bilingual call center at 1-877-428-8844, available M-F, 9:00 am – 8:00 pm EDT.

RENTER’S RIGHTS

The Indiana Office of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) has several resources available for renters on their website, including dispute forms, tenant rights, landlord obligations, legal assistance, and more.
